Biography

Turning small town dreams into international streams as Isaiah notches up 44+ million plays globally and turns his focus to more success in 2017.

With a population of just over 5000 people, Moama is hardly the kind of place you expect to find a superstar. Well, no one told Isaiah that.

In the past two years, the talented teen has transformed from a small town singer with big dreams, to one of Australia’s most successful artists. Along the way he’s won Th e X Factor, released a debut single that charted all over the world and notched up millions of international streams. All that at just 17 years of age.

It’s a long way from Moama.

Rewind a couple of years and Isaiah was certainly no stranger to hard work, he knew what he wanted and he was determined to make it happen.
“I always felt in my heart that I knew what I wanted to do in life and that was make music,” admits Isaiah.
“But it was a challenge coming from a small country town and living so far from the city.”
Pursuing his passion meant sacrifice and every weekend he would trek from Moama to Melbourne, with one thing on his mind.
“I knew this is what it would take,” says Isaiah.
“I’d catch the train or the bus to Melbourne and do five hours of vocal training, this was every weekend and the trip was six hours, which meant leaving home early morning, but I knew I had to do it.”
It’s this commitment that has driven Isaiah to success. Af ter winning T he X Factor in 2016, Isaiah buckled down and released his debut album, anchored by lead single, “It’s Gotta Be You.”

The song quickly found an international audience, with “It’s Gotta Be You” racking up more than 44 million streams and going platinum in Sweden, peaking at #9 on Spotify charts.

That was just the beginning, with Isaiah launching a chart attack globally that saw him land coveted spots on Spotify and iTunes charts around the world including Australia (#1 iTunes), the UK (#177 Spotify), Denmark (#12 Spotify), the USA (#98 Spotify), Germany, Canada (#46 Spotify) and the Philippines (#25 Spotify). There’s no denying that Isaiah is on fire.

The global success of Isaiah’s lead single has also helped the teenager connect with fans from far flung corners of the world.
“It’s amazing to hear from the overseas fans,” admits Isaiah, who has been streamed more than 4.5 million times in Sweden alone .

“I get really emotional when I sing and I think that comes through no matter what language you speak,” Isaiah says of his international appeal.

“People in Stockholm send me Snapchats of my songs being played in supermarkets, shopping centres, at the airports,” laughs Isaiah.

The milestones keep adding up for Isaiah, who recently made his mark in Los Angeles as part of the star studded G’Day LA event in Hollywood. Among the audience impressed by his performance were industry heavyweights including Chris Hemsworth, Paul Hogan, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and John Travolta.

“Those moments are surreal for me,” says Isaiah. “I’m just this guy from Moama!”

Next up he’ll be hitting the road again, joining ARIA winner Jessica Mauboy on her national All The Hits Live tour. It’s the latest in a long line of achievements that has cemented Isaiah as one of Australia’s most exciting artists.

Despite a whirlwind twelv e months, this ‘guy from Moama’ is still all about the music and he promises this is just the beginning.
“Everything that’s happened this year has been so encouraging for me and now I just want to release more music, tour the country and do what I love. I’ve got so much in store for this year, it’s time to blow people away.”

Isaiah's success story may have begun in a small town, years ago, but now the world is listening and we can’t wait to hear what’s next!
