Just Regular Guys
Competition is massive in dance, so you better come up with something original. Electro techno or techno electro, if you like, is the answer for Just Regular Guys, consisting of Thomas Hoenselaars and Jeroen Stam. The duo that met at Haarlem-based true nightclub Stalker, reportedly the oldest club in Holland, possesses a perfect sense of timing. This summer Just Regular Guys performed at the renowned Exit festival in Serbia, along with befriended fellow citizens Baskerville. At the end of August they released their first EP Charge on German based GND Records. Now they are featured on the new Unsigned project, with a remix for Nobody Beats The Drum. All feats combined make up giant hooks for publicists to hang their PR coats on. Exposure is the key if you want to distinguish yourselves perfectly these days.
Olivier Boogie
Hopping and bopping without skipping a beat, that´s Olivier Boogie. The 70s disco funk boogie of Dance Band, a modern adaptation of Donald Byrd’s same-named stomper, suits his spoof surname Boogie probably best. The track is to be released by Lumberjacks In Hell and already received raving responses on Soundcloud. For Unsigned he has put his hands on a track by Nobody Beats the Drum. In recent years under the name of O. Boogie he has already tasted of sweet success abroad. That happened when French DJ Laurent Garnier unexpectedly picked up the track Magnificent Speech Funk, on which he was prominently featured (Rush Hour Records, 2007). The name is now extended to his full name Olivier Boogie. It should mark his different touch to his work now. These days Boogie has his own small studio in Amsterdam. ‘I’m more focused than ever, I’m determined to go for it all the way.’
