Biography
The Butlers cut their first record in 1960. Frankie Beverly of Maze was the lead vocalist. They did 6 singles from 1960 to 1965 with several songs hitting the r&b charts. They recorded on the Jamie Guiden Label, Liberty Bell & Phila Records. They also worked as background singers for Cameo Parkway Records which was located at 250 S. Broad Street. They sang background on songs by Chubby Checker, Dee Dee Sharp, John Zacherle and others. The original Butlers are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and have come together and recorded a new cd titled "Reunion" coming soon at all the digital download platforms.
