Biography
Heba Rifaat is an exciting new Egyptian
artist from Cairo gifted with a light
earthy melancholy to her voice.
Spoon is none other than music veteran
Elroy 'Spoonface' Powell. He has been
making waves since 2000 as the voice of
multi-platinum single, 'You see the
trouble with me' and 'Hey Girl', the song
that helped to launch the Ukfunky scene
from its Co-op, Goya Music, Broken Beat
origins.
Its natural to ask what on earth have you
been up to and Spoon would probably
reply 'everything'.
From providing vocal sound-scaping for
critically acclaimed contemporary dance
production, Dessert Crossings by State of
Emergency. To trade missions to LA and
Japan as MD of FAADA One stop music
rights management. He has also found
time to explore photography and
released books to support his passion.
“It has all happened naturally. The songs
capture our ideas and such at the time.
Quite a fun, liberating experience making
music and not worrying about charts or even
record sales.. (very different to many of my
past projects). We just wanted to release
what we felt good about releasing. Simple..”
'THIS' captures the essence of Spoon's
creativity and Heba's touching tones.
They connect and allow a listener to tap
into that energy.
Standout tracks are 'Flashback'
receiving regular rotations from stations
like Rinse FM (DJ Allbury).
Neo-Soul lovers have reached for
'Harmony' and 'Sunny Daze' with
reggae enthusiasts picking up on 'Just
Be'.
Spoon Plus Heba = THIS
Inimitable, must have music.
