Sean Alan and The True Love Band
Biography
Equal parts edge and heart, Sean Alan is an L.A. based singer songwriter whose work is at once highly political and intensely personal. Drawing on classic rock, soul, alternative, garage punk, folk, psychedelia, blues and everything between, Alan's catalogue spans multiple styles, moods and genres. His music has been featured in film and television, most recently in the hit FX series "Better Things."
For a native LA musician, Sean Alan certainly does an impressive job at channeling the classic luminaries of Nashville and Muscle Shoals, with a bit of Detroit and Philly soul thrown in. Gritty, visceral performances of newly penned, but iconically nuanced tracks reminiscent of Otis Redding, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty possess a timeless quality. But for all his subtle lyricism, Sean delivers his message with a rock and roll angst that calls to mind the dirty guitar bands of the 60's and 70's.
This aesthetic carries faithfully through Sean’s latest full length creation, The Show Must Go On, released June of 2018. “It’s a fresh take on classic rock and soul, mostly love songs, but without your usual sappy clichés,” muses Sean enthusiastically about the new work. “Its raw and real, romantic and honest. I’m very excited to share it.”
