Biography
Radjinder blends classic pop/rock with modern studio sounds, drawing inspiration from The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and ’70s pop/rock. His often witty, ironic, and personal lyrics create a musical experience that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.
Born in The Hague in 1970 to a Hindustani father and Dutch mother, Erwin Radjinder Angad-Gaur was surrounded by diverse cultural influences. After studying Art and Cultural Sciences in Rotterdam, he launched his music career in 1996 as part of the producers' trio Angad-Gaur, Smit & Anneveldt, working with various artists and bands.
In 2002, Erwin debuted as Radjinder with Just Another Millionaire, an independent album featuring the charting single "Nice & Easy." His debut was followed by the DVD Homogeneous and the album The World, highlighting his introspective lyrics and eclectic sound.
After 2008, Erwin shifted focus to prose writing and musicians' rights advocacy, co-founding Platform Makers and working with the Dutch Musicians' Union. In 2020, he returned to songwriting, a.o. collaborating with Dutch lyricist Henk Westbroek for Boris van der Ham’s 2024 single Een Mooie Dag.
In 2024, Erwin is reuniting with past collaborators to create new Radjinder material, with releases set for 2025/2026. To pave the way for this new era, Just Another Millionaire will be re-released in November, re-edited and remastered on all major streaming platforms. This re-release will be followed by the release of remastered singles and previously unreleased tracks over the coming months.
Acclaimed by the Dutch music press in 2002, Just Another Millionaire explores themes of fame, identity, and meaning—topics even more relevant today than when the album first debuted. Radjinder’s music continues to resonate as he prepares for the next phase of his career.
