Biography
Monday's Mona Lisa is a pop/rock/alternative band from Satellite Beach, FL (70 miles east of Orlando). The band consists of 19-year old Austin Forcier (vocals, guitars); his 18-year old brother Dustin Forcier (vocals, piano, keyboards); 17-year old Wyatt Kassin (drums); and 19-year old Mark DeMao (bass).
The band (originally called Ready In A Minute) originated in 2010 when Dustin's piano teacher asked if he and his brother Austin could play the Art of Sand Festival in Cape Canaveral, FL, which was in need of live bands with original songs.
The gig went so well that the brothers decided to continue to develop their sound as a band, eventually adding Kassin (who, at 14, lied about his age at the time when he heard that the band was looking for a drummer who was at least 15-years old), and most recently DeMao (who was a talented bass-playing fan who ended up being invited to join the group).
Fast-forward to 2014, and Monday's Mona Lisa has played hundreds of live shows, have accumulated an international fan-base by appropriately performing live “every Monday” on YouNow.com, and have acquired combined social media fans and followers numbering over 20,000. Their international fan-base is so active that there are 30+ fan-created Monday's Mona Lisa fan pages on Facebook alone.
In September 2014, Monday's Mona Lisa won in the ‘Best Original Band’ category at the Brevard Live Music Awards, beating out established bands twice their age and becoming the youngest act to ever win in the history of the awards, which date back to 2003 and showcase the biggest talent from Florida's East Coast music scene.
