Biography
Growing up in Florida in the sixties GLENN COLEMANwanted nothing more than to play music. He and a few friends, like many others, formed their first band,THE RUMORS,and also like many other new bands of the era they were going to be the next Beatles.
However,THE RUMORSfaded into history and in the latter part of the decadeGLENNbecame a member ofSTATE OF MIND,a five piece band that performed a mix of popular tracks and their own original songs. The band had limited local success with Tener Records but the group disbanded in 1968.
The end of the sixties sawGLENNhelp formORANGE WEDGE,a group performing in the then popular Psychedelic genre. Just as the band was making some headwayGLENN'Smusical aspirations were interrupted when he was drafted for a 2 year tour in the U.S. Army.
Having finished his tourGLENNreturned to Florida to pick up his musical career but the gigs had dried up and GLENNreturned to military service with the U.S Air Force.
The Air Force provided the oppotunity for travel and the mid seventies sawGLENNin England where he formed his own bandMEDUSAwho performed and recorded original songs based on the emergence ofGLENN as a writer-composer.
In 1977GLENNdeparted the U.S military for the second time and returned home to Florida. During the early 80s he played in several bands, most notablyTAVA which despite early promise and tours throughout the South never reached its potential and dissolved in 1985.
The breakup ofTAVA saw a disillusionedGLENNtake a break from performing and writing which he didn't pick up again until the early 90s and he spent the rest of the decade honing his songwriting skills.
Having moved to Texas in 2002GLENNformed a new band that played many venues in the Dallas Metro area and, over a gradual period, his style of guitar and slide guitar began to get noticed along with his bluesy after hours vocals. In early 2014GLENNsigned with Gravel Road Records And Music and his first EP "TOO FAR GONE' was released by the label in mid 2014. Having received critcal acclaim from radio and media alike for his debut EPGLENNhas released his new single "Delta Mae" with an album to follow later in the year.
