Chris Comet is an accomplished composer, producer, arranger, keyboardist, and recording engineer whose career spans several decades and continents. Renowned for both his musical versatility and technical expertise, he engineers his own album projects from his Texas-based recording facility, Soaring Eagle Studio, where artistic vision and high-level production seamlessly converge.
After establishing a successful career in Europe as a musician, producer, and session player, Chris Comet relocated to the United States approximately 35 years ago, settling in Hollywood. There, he quickly became an integral part of the professional studio scene, working and recording in some of the industry’s most prestigious facilities, including Westlake Studios, A&M Studios, Record Plant, Fantasy Studios, and the Jackson family’s private studio. His work during this period reflects deep immersion in the highest tiers of contemporary music production and performance.
Throughout his career, Comet has collaborated with an extraordinary roster of world-class musicians. Among them are percussionist Lenny Castro; legendary drummer Vinny Colaiuta, known for his work with artists such as Sting, Madonna, Jeff Beck, and Frank Zappa; guitarist Michael Landau; bassist Freddie Washington; and drummer Manu Katché, celebrated for his collaborations with Peter Gabriel and Sting. He has also worked with acclaimed saxophonist Sam Riney and guitarist Kamil Rustam, further underscoring the breadth and caliber of his professional associations.
In addition, Chris Comet has collaborated with Bernie Chiaravalle, a longtime member of Michael McDonald’s band since 1988, whose career includes performances and recordings with artists such as The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, Chaka Khan, Toto, Christopher Cross, Cher, and Marc Cohn, among many others. His work also extends to internationally respected drummer Simon Phillips, whose résumé includes collaborations with The Who, Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears, Judas Priest, and numerous iconic artists across rock, jazz, and fusion genres.
Further collaborations include drummer Shannon Forrest, a key figure in modern American recording whose credits span artists such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Willie Nelson, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Rogers, and who has toured with Toto since 2015. Comet has also worked with Craig Young, a prominent Nashville session bassist, writer, and producer whose contributions include recordings for Jewel, Lady A, Elton John, Michael McDonald, and many others.
