Ashley North is a Actress, Singer and Model born on May 23 in Oklahoma City, OK. Ashley began her career a classical pianist at the age of seven.She began performing by playing piano in the Baptist Church. It was piano instructor Beverly Tackett that discover that she could sing. Beverly was the person that helped Ashley score her first performance “4H Share the Fun”. In 1995, North accomplished her first national accomplishment with single “ Too Many Too Tell” recognized as a young person's view of terrorist act of the Oklahoma City Bombing. From there Ashley went on to Branson, Missouri to work at Country Tonite, at the Mel Tillis Theatre with Mel Tillis and Glen Campbell. As she was working with headliners, she decided the next move was to record an album. In 1997, she recorded the album “I Think I Am Over You” which was a mix of original music and previously recorded country standards. The album received radio AirPlay regionally in the Oklahoma/Texas Area. Ashley hosted. Polygram Records recognized the song “I Think I Am Over You” was remixed and played on KISS-FM in Los Angeles. With rave response Polygram was in negotiation to sign Ashley when she had Cerebral Aneurysm ruptured in the left side of my brain. That moment her life changed was never the same, but after physical rehab and working one year with OCU Vocal Coaches Florence Birdwell and Bart Dawson, she booked her first show back with Country Music Hall Famer Hank Thompson and Grammy Award Winner Jodie Miller. Over time she would appear with on the famous Texas Opry house Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue, Austin City Limits with Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, House of Blues with The Platters, Dan Ackroyd and John Goodman, Radio City Music Hall. She also sang the National Anthem for Florida Marlins, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins.
In 2007, Ashley moved to South Florida not only did she pick up the acting bug but took to the flare of runway modeling. She drove by a Theatre in Stuart FL and ended up in the play not doing a monologue but singing Janis Joplin's “Mercedes Benz! The play was at the Barn Theatre and was called “Bull in a China Shop”. She transformed herself into a 75 year old woman and found that she liked stepping out of her own skin and being someone else. Her first film was in Miami called “High School Gig” and again found a new passion in front of the camera. That is when TRUTv called and she went on National television for the first time as an actress. She worked under famed photographer Paul Palmero and walked runway for charitable events for the “Voice of African Women” to raise money for education for the women in Africa. She landed a role in a film “2055 Back to The West” where she saw herself on the big screen for the first time in February 2010.
Ashley moved to New York in the fall of 2010 and mentored under Legendary Record Producer Morty Craft. She performed in an Off Broadway Play “Something Outrageous”. In 2012, she appeared on the ABC Talk Show “The Revolution” appearing in an fitness segment with Harley Paternak. She created an artist development and music distribution company J Dash Productions with Legendary Producer Morty Craft. As a model she has appeared in an Ad for Overstock.com. She went to London and appeared “As You Like It” as “Audrey” in London and Stratford Upon Avon. She studied under Sir John Barton at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and Cicely Berry at RSC in Stratford Upon Avon. 2014, she appeared on the “Katie” and became member of ”Who’s Who American Entertainers. She is the third generation in her family to receive the honor. She appeared on a National Infomercial with Tristar/Kamen Entertainment. In 2015, She became an Member of National Recording Arts and Sciences-New York Division. Her photo appeared in Variety with the Cast of the “Orange is the New Black” for Season 3 and is working on Season 4. Ashley has merged her company J Dash Productions and with Mind Over Records with Duncan Morley. She is appearing with Grammy Nominated/Fitness Expert,Marina Kamen, in “Marina’s High NRG Fitness Live in New York City.
2016 has been the year of career changes for Ashley North. Not only has she launching her own career, but she officially launched her company that she founded with Morty Craft and hit the ground running this year. Not only did J Dash Productions stay a music company, but extended to film and fashion company. Ashley launched the fashions to CBS NY “Live it Up With Donna Drake” Annrkee line spring of 2016 and premiered “Nikole Jordan Collection” in NYFW fall 2016. She has walked runways for Robert Greco, Shanice Jones, B Juled Couture by Monica Davis, Designs By Taz, Ashley North came together with Emmy Award winning Producer Frank J Fernandez and Director Robin C. Adams which brought to life the the Music Video “Something You Need”. Currently in its first round of Grammy Nominations in the Video Categories. Our friend at KISS Fm in Los Angeles came calling back for “Something You Need” bringing the famed Ryan Seacrest with them. Mood Media came aboard and has taken “Something You Need” has taking to notice to retailers such as: Wendys, McDonalds, Body Shop, Primark, Petsmart, MontBlanc, W Hotels, Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel and so many more. 2017 brings great success for the EP “Full Circle” Produced by Grammy nominated Marina Kamen and Kamen Entertainment!!!!
