Born Sannie Charlotte Carlson on April 11, 1970 in Denmark, she rose to international fame in 1994 with her debut single “Saturday Night”, which became a global phenomenon. The track topped the charts in multiple countries, went straight to #1 in the UK (making her the first artist ever to debut at number one with her first single), and earned her a place in the Guinness Book of Records. The song’s iconic dance routine became a worldwide cultural moment.
With hits such as “Another Day”, “Think of You”, “Sexy Eyes” and “Big Time”, Whigfield sold millions of records and established herself as a cornerstone of the classic Eurodance era.
After a period of touring and releasing new music, Whigfield returned stronger than ever in 2026 with the high-energy single “SUGA” (feat.
