Gini

Gini is a young artist based in Vienna. She stands for selflove, diversity and girlpower. And so does her music. In her songs she works up all her experiences as being a woman in a man-made society and tries to empower young women and the LGBTQ community. “Be who you are and let nobody bring you down. If you are different, love it and work with it, not against it” – that is Gini’s main message for the people out there.
On the 12th of February her debut single “be around” from her upcoming EP “Gini Tonic” will be released. Gini Tonic is a mixture between Urban Pop, Hip Hop and RnB. It’s filled with energetic motivational songs and combines hiphop beats & bass with poppy choruses. Ginis`biggest musical influences are Jorja Smith, Doja Cat and Beyoncè. Her first album ever bought was “Tasty” by Kelis and is still an inspiration to her, not only because of the urban sounds and the sensual lyrics in it.
On her EP she tells the story of being different and not fitting into stereotypes. She also has some drag queens in her musicvideos and shows strong women wearing hijabs. That is because a) she has a lot of drag queen and hijabi friends and b) she wants to represent as many different human beings as possible. Not only is Gini an active musician, she is also an actress and comedian and loves to express herself in her alter ego “Billie Steirisch” on tiktok. There she developed over 75k followers within 8months and the fan base is still growing. In her tiktok videos she deals with feminism and other serious topics in a funny and satirical way.
All in all, her EP is a satirical outcry against oppression packed in urban Pop tunes and RnB beats.
