Following late night conversations between Phil Baggaley, Adrian Plass and David Clifton whilst on tour in England, the idea of creating a musical and literary presentation inspired by the subject of heaven was born. Something unusual to inspire and captivate.
Long standing friends Phil Baggaley, Ian Blythe and David Clifton began by working on music, including the title track, and this was the spark that ignited the creative flame for this unique project.

Conversations with English poet and writer Adrian Plass confirmed choices of poetry and prose, with writing sessions between Phil, David and Ian developing the composition of songs and music throughout the year..

The album was completed in four seasons: Initial recordings were begun late autumn, with sessions continuing throughout the winter and into the spring of the next year. Summer saw the finishing touches, final overdubs and mastering of the project.

The special 20th anniversary edition is represented by these featured radio remasters, and celebrates a unique project that continues to inspire hundreds of thousands of people across the world.

All the songs in this radio promotion are trusted and proven popular favourites for airplay. This is the fist coordinated worldwide radio campaign to promote City of Gold to new audiences.
