Curtis Binky Womack
Womacks haveplayed a majorpart on thedevelopment andbeen an influenceon Soul and R&B music since theearly 1960s.Binky Womack is the Son of Curtis Womack from the Womack Brothers. HeGot his start in the music business as a session player and back up guitar player. Being mentored and molded by uncle's Bobby Womack and Cecil Womack who were both successful writers and producers at that time. Needless to say "The Womack family buisnessis music.The Womack Brothers sang Gospel and then transitioned to Rock n" Roll in the early 1960s as the proteges of Sam Cooke. Binkywould watch his dad and the brothers in the studio putting together hit after hit and just waiting for the chance to be able to join in. The years went by and the practice would eventually pay off. Back up work with both Cecil and Bobby became a regular occurence.This would eventually lead to productionjobsof his own with an array of artists. The Music biz sooned opened up to Binky andwith success came many opportunities remixing records and doing tracks for everyone from Usher toSnoop Doggas well as film and television scores and soundtracks. Binky also known as Curtis Womack was behind the scenesas a Writer Producer Composer for the majority of his career with the exception of a release entitled Crazy about you on Bugulsa Records based in Germany. This record is what Binky calls the first mixtape ever. It was a compilation of underground artist with the exception on Bobby Womack doing two tracks on the record. All Songs were written and produced as well as all instruments played by Binky. Binky Plays an Array of instruments and always plays all instruments on his productions. This is his first Release ever as an Artist and he describes this record as a return to his roots. Womack Style
